Now Playing: I`m Sorry - Gummi feat. TOP
Wow, it seems like such a long time ago I updated.
Well there`s alot of stuff to keep on about. There was Outward Bound and then the start of the holidays. More on OB than holidays, seeing as now i`m stuck in the middle of a flu period.
So OB...an experience I don`t think I can forget. There were times I loved, and there were times I hated, but on reflection I think it`s something that is good for personal discovery (excuse the cliched term) but very challenging at the same time.
What do you get when you have a teacher, 17 pc girls, a crazy instructor by the name of Ned in the middle of nowhere for 10 days?
That`s the essence of Outward Bound.
My camp group consisted of moi, Nomez, Emhalse, Sam, Bry, Caitlin, Ellie G, Steph Sims, Lara, Anna, Sophie G, Nikki, Dim, Nell, Sarah, Clare and Georgia. With the excepion of 2 people at certain times, I think I have an AWESOME time with everyone. I really got to know alot more about the people, which was great becasue I wouldn`t usually talk so much to them in school becasue of social cliques or classes. I have so many good memories of camp, my favourite would be the night everyone just looked up at the stars. There was a rocky plateau and a clearing, so perfect stargazing time. But overall the landscape durign the whole camp was beautiful; whether it was at the top of Woolbale Hill (Or the Mt Everest of Walpole as we like to call it) or the scenic walk near the coast of and on Mandalay Beach. The land was so diverse; you could get the strectches of sand dunes, the hike through pure hilly bush, coastal areas and everything. I swear it was amazing how beautiful it was. Enough of me babbling, you have to get out there to appreciate and know what I mean.
I have to admit that it wouldn`t have been enjoyable without the people there. To have Naomi and Emma there for support was great and Anna, that girl is great. Whenever it was getting depressign throughout hiking, her singing or reciting of Disney favourites or musical numbers from Sweeney Todd were just a delight. And that memorable asian hug, ants in my pants or 'prostitues are smarter cuz they get paid" was fantastic; no doubt a winner comeback. The HEY EMMA, HEY WHAT?, INTRODUCE YOURSELF, NO WAY, INTRODUCE YOURSELF, OKAY, 1 2 3 4 5 MY NAME`S EMMA AND I SAY HI, 6 7 8 9 10 NOW BACK IT UP AND MEET MY FRIEND was stuck in my brain for ages. Nikki and Emma`s version of that cheer in washing machine and microwave and the Jesus dance was memorable too.
But most fun would have to be the last night when Naomi, Sam, Bry, Em and I had a psycho night before sleeping. Whether it was the *cue low voice* "Hey Schnookums" or "I`d tap that", the laughter generated from Sam was unbelievable. Even worse was the Bush greetings, her laughter was so....O__O Normal people, when they laugh too much get into the silent double over laughing.
Sam just gets louder. o___o
Surviving dirt, fatigue and rain were only part of the deal. Bugs were a huge factor during camp; it was like we got attacked by midgies, mosquitoes, ticks and worst of all, giagntic mutant ants. Well, not he mutant but, but they were unnaturally big. An unfortunate incident was a "NIKKI DON`T LOOK" ants-in-my-pants incident. When ants bite your ass and they are in your pants. it`s a bitch. and it`s not pleasant when you have to half dack to apply stingos and everyones attention is drawn onto you as well as their million headlights, laughing at you. Looking back, it was hilarious, but humiliating at the same time.
Most fo the time, the food during camp was good, having lovely variation of pasta classics; carbonara stir fry, beachside carbonara, tortillas etc. the list goes on, while the addiction to the donut jam and vegemite was (no comment) o____________o Unfortunately we did have or share of bad food; the nights with rice were a disaster; us having the delight of risotto de carbon; a blend of uncooked and burnt rice simmered with a stirfry of well cooked vegetables. A generous helping of soya sauce to garnish also.
The most fun part was the journey back to Walpole and then to Perth. When we descended onto Walpole, it was as if bogan invasion had occurred. There were girls in dirty flannel shirts and camo pants with dishevelled hair running around Walpole, flooding the businesses with grunts of I WANT THAT ONE. I had a generous helping of fat while I was there; chips, vanilla slice, sausage roll and an eclair. Oh yummmmm.
Unfortunately that`s when the adventure more or less ends, as the return back to civilisation brought the deferalisation of Cassii and she was slap bang back to normal within a week.
Nights as I gotta go now.
